   What a treat!  First we found an empty robin egg on the ground.  The logic of gravity guided our search to this well-hidden, well-shaded nest.  Hatching was still in progress!  We snapped a few shots and ran to get the video camera.  We would have liked to stay but didn’t want to upset the mother.  We returned each day to amazing progress in the lives of these robin redbreast chicks -- from egg, to fuzz, to hungry noisemakers, to...gone?!  Within a week, the birds had flown off and left an empty nest.
