2006 Potomac Whitewater Festival. Middle section of Great Falls. On my qualifying run, I got pushed into the eddy on the right after “Grace Under Pressure” (the 1st drop) and had to backpaddle out into the current. I sprinted enough to just barely squeak into the last finals spot. My finals run was smooth, fast, and on line all the way down. I still can’t figure out how Jason Beakes won. I finished second.
